Cotebrook Ben Cruachan

The ideal gift for animal lovers!

Did You Know?

All the male Shire horses bred at Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre are named after Scottish mountains.

We have four generations at Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre.

Angel is a great grandmother!

Broom is her daughter, and Brooms daughter is Loch Awe.

We have named him Ben Cruachan, after the highest mountain in Argyll and Bute in Scotland that overlooks Loch Awe.

This mountain gives its name to the Cruachan Dam, a hydro electric power station located in a cavern inside the mountain. It is the high point of a ring of mountains, known as the Cruachan Horseshoe, that surrounds the power station reservoir.

The name means “Mountain of Peaks”
