Cotebrook Geraroidin Roise

The ideal gift for animal lovers!

Did You Know?

All the female Shire horses bred at Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre are named after Scottish Lochs.

This is Maddys second foal. Last year she had an easy foaling but this year she struggled giving birth to a huge foal who’s leg was backwards.

It was touch and go whether the foal would survive (and indeed Maddy) and was a very worrying time.

Thanks to the expertise and ministrations of our vet, at long last, the foal arrived and despite a very stressful birth she was full of energy and couldn’t wait to get on her feet. She is very feisty!

We have named her Geraroidin Roise  (pronounced Ger-oh-deen Ro-sha) The gaelic meaning is Mighty with a Spear or Spear Ruler

It is also the gaelic version of our vets name – Geraldine Rose!

Her stable name is Roise (Ro-sha).
