Cotebrook Loch Bee

The ideal gift for animal lovers!

Did You Know?

All the female Shire horses bred at Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre are named after Scottish Lochs.

Loch Bee was Maddy’s first foal when she was born last year and isn’t she a beauty!

We weren’t sure what colour she would turn out as her father is jet black and her mother is bay.

We name all our filly foals after Lochs in Scotland and all our colt foals after Mountains in Scotland (with just a few exceptions over the years)

We have decided to call Maddy’s foal Loch Bee (or in Gaelic: Loch Bi) which is the name of the largest Loch on the island of South Uist in the outer Hebrides of Scotland.  Maddy is named after Loch Maddy on North Uist.

Bi is a verb in Gaelic meaning “to be”.
