I thought I would tell you a little bit about what is going on at the farm.
It looks like February will be the calm before the storm as we have so much going on next month.
Did you know? We have 3 foals due in the first week of March, including yours truly. I’m not sure Janet will be getting much sleep and that’s assuming we all give birth when we are due! There is the possibility that all give birth on the same day. I suggested that to Janet, but she said she didn’t want to think about it. There is also a chance that if a foal comes early, it could be born on February 29th. That means it would only have a birthday once every four years. I wouldn’t mind too much as birthdays can be an expensive time with so many relatives on the farm!
As if March wasn’t busy enough, The Shire Horse National Show is also in March. Did I ever mention I was National Champion twice there?
I won’t be going this year, but I have been putting on classes for the horses that are. I give them advice on how to stand, trot and run and I also tell them that winking at the judge can help. If it doesn’t work you can always pretend you had something in your eye!
The show is in Stafford and it’s great to see our members and visitors there. (Purchase your early bird tickets here . It can get cold in there, so don’t forget to bring your official Cotebrook bobble hat with you. I like the pink one as the horse on it looks like me.
