Cotebrook Ben Vane

The ideal gift for animal lovers!

Did You Know?

All the male Shire horses bred at Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre are named after Scottish mountains.

This is Kelsie’s first foal and everyone was wondering what colour he would be? His father is Sparkland Ben, a young grey stallion, and Kelsie is black. However the foal has turned out to be bay!

He was very small when born which is often the case with a mares first foal but he is now growing at a fast rate!

We name all our males horses after mountains in Scotland.

Ben Vane may be only just high enough to make Munro status, but it is a steep, rocky little mountain with real character, like a wee terrier that refuses to acknowledge its lack of stature amongst its higher neighbours.

We think the name choosey by Karen Weedall sums up Kelsies foal perfectly!

His stable name is Ben.
