Loch Broom

The ideal gift for animal lovers!

Did You Know?

All the female Shire horses bred at Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre are named after Scottish Lochs.

It was a great surprise when Angel had Broom as she was black in colour and there is no recent history of black horses in her parentage!

She gave birth to her first foal, Cotebrook Arkle, on 9th March 2018. He was also the first foal for his father Leverton Leonardo. What a great result! Arkle was Supreme Champion foal at Nantwich and South Cheshire Show, his first time in the showring.

Broom had her second foal, Loch Awe, in March 2019 and like Arkle she is a big strong foal.

Broom’s 3rd foal Kelsie, again with Leonardo as the father, was born on 17th May 2020 and is a beautiful black filly foal with 4 white legs.

Broom is proving to be a fabulous brood mare producing some really good quality foals. She is in foal again to Leonardo and is due in May 2021.
