Maddy is a great grand daughter of Moorfield Edward.
She is a big filly with beautiful bone and ankles, and is just awesome!
She has already had some success in the show ring. She was Junior Champion at the North West and Wales show in October 2021 and came 2nd in a strong 3 year old filly class at the National Shire Show in March 2022.
Maddy had her first foal on 19th April 2023, a beautiful filly named Loch Bee. The father is Kings Black Hawk, a magnificent black stallion.
Her second foal is Roise who was born on 8th May 2024, the father being Sparkland Ben, a grey Shire. Unfortunately it was a difficult birth so we have not put Maddy back in foal again this year.
Maddy was named by Chris Gaskill who is a great supporter of Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre.
Loch Maddy is a sea loch leading to the township of Lochmaddy on North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. The gaelic name—Loch nam Madadh—means Loch of the Hounds.
