Laggans mother, Tilly, was a Clydesdale and Edward (her father) was a Shire, so Laggan has been registered as a Grade B Shire.
In 2016 as a foal she was Supreme Champion Foal at the biggest shire foal show in the country.
She has grown into a large powerful mare, like her mother.
Her older brother, Ben Alder, has had a great show career. As a foal he was Supreme National Champion foal and he has been twice National Champion Gelding. As a 2 year old and a 4 year old.
As Laggan shares his genes we are hoping she produces some special foals with Leonardo.
In 2019 she had a super colt foal, Ben Lawers, and this year she has had a huge, perfectly marked colt foal, Alistair’s What’s Wanted (Big Al). She is proving to be a consistently good breeder!
Loch Laggan is a loch in Lochaber, east of Fort William and was featured in the BBC series Monarch of the Glen.
