Shows, foals and a new home for my blog

Hello,

Anna here!

Well, what a few months it has been at the centre, and we have some very exciting times ahead too!

Let’s start with the National Shire Horse Show. Although I came away empty-handed this year, there was plenty of success for Cotebrook. Ben Alder was awarded Supreme Gelding Champion for the 2nd time, meaning he joins me with 2 Championship wins!

When he came back he was beaming, everyone was so happy.

I headed to Stafford on the Sunday, and I was only due in the showring in the afternoon, which meant I got to have a little more beauty sleep than normal, not that I need it! I came second in the class senior mares but didn’t win a prize in the overall championship, I was a bit disappointed but tried not to have a long face. Not as easy as it sounds for horses!

Arkle also did really well as his first National Championship, being named the second best yearling colt foal in the country.

What about here?! Well it’s foal, foal, foal. Orchid’s and Rannoch’s foals now have a name thanks to you! We had some great suggestions but are pleased to now have Maddy and Morar on the farm.

Broom has now given birth to the third filly foal of the year, full sister to Arkle. Stay tuned for another “name the foal” competition very soon.

We still have 3 mares in foal, so we hope to have some more happy news to share with you soon.  Alistair really has his work cut out this year.

What’s next…. Well, we have some more exciting news to share soon, including a new home for my blog.

Anyway, that’s all for now, it’s the school holidays here and I have lots of visitors wanting to have a chin wag with me

‘Till next time
